Description: Antique Royal Staffordshire Burslem LIDDED COVERED CASSEROLE VEGETABLE SERVING DISH With Under-plate in transfer ware blue and has gold accents. This fabulous antique oval SERVING DISH or SOUP TUREEN was made by Wilkinson Ltd( Arthur J Millkinson, Ltd) of Burslem, Staffordshire, England in 1907 in the art nouveau transferware IRIS pattern. Toureen measures 12-7/8” handle to handle x 8” front to back x about 6” tall to knob handle tip Underplate measures 13” x 9.25” by 1-3/16” tall Very nice, gently used condition THE PLATE WOBBLES FRONT TO BACK AND SERVING DISH WOBBLES LEFT TO RIGHT, both wobbles very slight. THERE IS CRAZING AND MANUFACTURER IMPERFECTIONS AS WELL AS WARES TO GOOD RIM MOSTY ON UNDER-PLATE. THE TUREEN AND UNDERPLATE ARE OVAL. Will be shipped carefully in large box wrapped in bubble wrap and peanuts as well as styrofoam to protect from damage.
