Description: Royal China (USA) Blue Willow Ware (Assorted Individual Pieces) ~ VTG Description: "Willow" was produced by multiple companies, none of which were exactly the same! All oriental in nature, generally blue... but not always, and featured some combination of buildings, trees, flowers and other foliage, birds, peasants and perhaps a bridge, wagon or cart. The central graphic was always surrounded by a repeating pattern of intricate crosshatching and symbols. These similarities allowed good compatibility which proved convenient since all pieces were not included in all patterns. Therefore, it's not surprising that many of today's "Willow" collections contain pieces from multiple sources. Interesting fact: The Royal China Company manufactured dinnerware in Sebring, Ohio from 1934 to 1986. It had various owners after 1969 including the Jeanette Glass Corporation and even Coca-Cola. They produced 1,400 different dinnerware patterns including "Willow" and the popular blue and white "Currier & Ives". Condition: Used, but not abused. There are NO chips, cracks, crazing, fleabites, scratches, scuffs, stains, repairs or any other cosmetic / structural issues. The willow graphics remain pristine. Most of the rims and kiln feet (which are the first indication of prolonged display / use) remain factory fresh with only a few showing minor discoloration. Only the luncheon plates have backstamps. They are bold, fully legible, and certify: "[Logo Willow Ware by Royal China] ~ Underglaze ~ Made in U.S.A." Status: Discontinued.
