Description: Here we have a very scarce, very-vintage/antique Royal Cauldon (England) earthenware polychrome transferware dinner plate in the Hunt pattern featuring the "Lost the Scent" scene. Scalloped edge. Heavily embossed ivory scroll border. We have lots of other fabulous transferware in our store, to which we add new inventory daily, and we're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost. Very clean, bright, and colorful piece that displays beautifully. In remarkable condition for its age, with only a few very light, completely colorless, scratches to the glaze, indicating that it was most probably never actually used at the table. Very clean ivory border, with no marks or discoloration. No chips, cracks, silver/gray utensil marks, or deep scratches anywhere. The only issue is crazing, which is light and unstained, on the front and back. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report.
