After a six-month courtship they began a marriage that lasted until Charlie’s passing some 59 years later.After the war she had a son, Ron, and then the family moved to Danvers where she had a daughter, Joanne.After Joanne started school, Rose began going to classes taught by several well-known oil painters at the local artist’s colony in Rockport, Mass.She was good with a remarkable eye for color, light and shade, and an impressive skill with the brush. Her teachers talked her into exhibiting her paintings at local art shows where she received many first place awards and began selling her work. By the mid 1970s, she was teaching oil painting in her own studio. She was a founding member and past president of the Danvers Art Association and taught oil painting into her early eighties .
