Description: RORY GALLAGHER Description Extremely rare and highly collectible large original first printing concert poster advertising legendary Rory Gallagher's 7-date German tour during March and April 1976. Presented by Lippmann+Rau, Gallagher was touring continental Europe in support of the Against the Grain album – his fifth studio album, produced by Gallagher himself and originally released in October 1975 on his new record company Chrysalis Records. Having previously only released one cover version on a studio album, Against The Grain includes two, one by Leadbelly and one from the Porter/Hayes songwriting team. It was released at a period when Gallagher was finally achieving some recognition in the United States and the album received very favourable reviews. It peaked at #121 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the charts for 13 weeks. In the UK the album was was certified Gold by the BPI (British Phonographic Industry) for sales in excess of 100,00 copies. The poster measures 59.4 x 84.0 cm (approx. 23.4" by 33.1" inches) and is beautifully printed in on thin, coated paper stock.
