Description: The Life Saver Cactus is one of the most unique cactus on the market today! When my husband 1st spotted the plant we were walking thru a large Arts & Crafts Show in Cedar Key, Fl. I was looking at something and he said "hey, look at that Life Saver Plant!" I said" yea, Right Bill" with out even looking where he was pointing. Figured it was just one of his Jokes! He said "no really, it IS a Life Saver Plant." So I stopped and turned around, and to my amazement the Cherry Red life saver looked so real, my next thought was that someone had "glued" a candy life saver on the cactus. Well, after several minutes of looking at it and talking to the nice folks at the booth, i became the proud owner of the small plant. Taking it home and placing it on my front porch next to our sitting area. Where i could keep an eye on it. Everyone who came to our house Ohhed and Awed over it. So much so that i shared a small piece of it with each of them. I nicknamed it my "friendship plant". Later I would hear how well it had grown for them and how they had shared it with their friends. It is an Easy to grow plant that can take not being watered much to watering it every day. It doesn't seem to have a preference. I even put some in my Aquaponics garden, no soil on the roots, floating in 15" of water in a net pot! It is doing fine! It can take a sunny area to full shade. But in the sun it turns reddish instead of staying dark green. It has short spiky looking ribs down its sides, BUT they are soft and safe around Kids and Animals to touch. They will keep growing and spreading depending on the size of pot you keep them in. They readily bloom during spring, summer and fall. It will have multiple Life Savers on it at one time. They turn a Root Beer color as the bloom begins to die. It will freeze so give it a little protection during the colder months and you should have a wonderful eye catching plant for many years to come! You will receive 1 rooted section of the cactus that are ready to be potted. It is sent bare root. place in a 4" pot, fill in pot water them in. Place in a bright spot but Not direct sunu until it has had time to adjust to its new surroundings. We ship USPS and there is a $50.00 insurance through them. So in the event of mishap during travel, the Buyer must make claim with them. Take several pictures of package and of each damaged plant piece. You must submit proof of Claim with USPS and there response to you along with pictures to me if they will not correct the issue Before i will resolve the issue. I have successfully been shipping plants for several years so they should arrive safely unless the proverbial "Gorilla Baggage Handler" gets ahold of them in route.
