Description: Roman Tesserae from Lincolnshire mounted in wood frame mosaic floor tiles blocks The tesserae are approx. 25mm or 1 inch. The frame is 6 x 6 inches My father found the tesserae in an arable field he owned in South Lincolnshire which was the site of a Roman Villa. He used ordinary sand/cement to fix them in place. It's a bit crumbly so it would benefit from raking out and grouting properly.
