Description: We are pleased to offer a large and impressive silverplated ladle in Roman, a popular pattern from 1847 Rogers Bros. This huge ladle measures 13" long with a bowl measuring 3 1/2" x 4 3/4". It has a faint monogram of E F (?). It's in excellent condition with crisp and clean detail. There is the start of a heel shadow where it sits on a table or in a tureen. The bowl is in excellent condition. This ladle dates to the Civil War era; while not used around a campfire, it would have seen service at dinners during that time. It's a beautiful find!
