The stamp of ROBESON is a fine stamp as opposed to Shuredge being in handwriting and a very heavy stamp. What I am getting at is ROBESON is hard to read but it is there. Decent snap for the blade in both directions. I do see some scratches but no cracks. The letter opener edges are somewhat sharp on both sides. Not cutting edge sharp, but much sharper than the average letter opener, and I do believe they came this way. This is a nice piece. Hard to let this one go but I must thin the heard. Everything is tight and should clean up a lot and look much better with a little bit of work. I did notice that the brass liners are bent some, and not sure why but it doesnt seem to affect anything. The blades have been sharpened and not much left of the smaller blade. It also has no snap. The main blade does have some life and it has decent snap. The handles are well worn but have no cracks(there actually might be a crack on the front handle close to the main pin bolster, but it doesnt reach the pin). You can faintly read ROBESON on the handle. Handles look like they might be bone.
