The book contains his senior picture and FOUR 3"x3" examples of his artwork! The corners of the cover and top and bottom of the spine show minor wear, but the front and back cover are in excellent overall condition. The early pages in the front of the book show that the right edges of the pages were wet at one point in time, going about 3/4" in and about 2" in height, and some show paper loss where 2 or 4 of them may have been stuck together and separated (see attached scan). On two of the four artwork plates, there are signings that come right up to the edge of the artwork (see attached scans). We are pricing this book at HALF of what we would normally sell it for due to the moisture issues with the early pages. HOWEVER, we have gone out of our way to point out in detail the issues, which may overstate the impact on the overall book. So please feel confident that you are buying something in collectible condition. This is a significant Mapplethorpe piece as it shows FOUR pieces of his earliest work!
