Signed lower right Measures 16 x 20 inches 24 x 28 inches, framed About the artist: Born in Los Angeles, CA on Oct. 12, 1918. Caples was educated at Hollywood and Venice High Schools. Opting for an art career, he studied locally at the Chouinard Art Institute and Los Angeles Art Center. He then painted backgrounds for most of the animation studios including Disney, Hanna-Barbera, and Warner Bros. In his leisure he painted a variety of subject matter including landscapes, portraits, historic buildings, and urban scenes. He was a resident of Rogue River, OR where he continued to paint and teach before retiring to Mesa, AZ in 1995. He died there on Sept. 20, 1996. Member: Calif.
