Description: This is a size 44 Blanket Mackinaw coat made by River Junction Trade Co in the USA and perfect for western and frontier re-enacting or just general Winter wear. They are according to the company made from “Blended fiber and Wool Blankets (90% Wool 10% Blended Fiber)” and they use military surplus to create them. The style is copied from an old one worn in late 1800s-early 1900s says the company and are trimmed in the pockets with leather for durability. The nice big shawl collar can be stood up around your neck and face to help protect you from those Winter wind chills. For added warmth the front is double-breasted. Again all these tidbits are from the company. A similar coat can actually be seen worn in the Call of the Wild movie! This jacket was lightly used and worn but kept in great shape. I will note to the condition that it does have a slight smell from the previous owner’s storage, and I cannot place if it is smoky or just from the blanket’s wool smell. Nice and heavy! Some small tears or loose stitching are possible but again it looks in good shape so please do see the photos up close. Some small holes noted in left sleeve and left shoulder - I am unsure if it was made this way or if it happened when being worn. They will be pictured for you. A great way to get this coat if you’ve wanted one for less than a brand new one. With the material it is a bit scratchy if you are not used to it, but should be just fine when worn over your other long sleeve winter wear.
