Riva Millennium Meeting Book, Mahogany Wood Cover, Rare (Riva Yacht, Riva Boat)

Description: If there is such a thing as the ultimate coffee table book, this is definitely the one. Published to commemorate the Millennium Meeting of Riva boat owners in 2000. Book is by Riccardo Sassoli and Luigi Carlo Saulle, preface by Carlo Riva, text in Italian and English, special edition with a wooden cover. Hardcover, 160 pages, published 2000, Idea Books, printed in Italy. Dimensions 12 W x 11-1/4 H x 7/8 D inches. The Limited Edition Postcard attached to this book was published to commemorate the Riva 2000 and 200 meeting. It was specially printed by the National Postal Service, and it pictures an Aquarama cruising at high speed. In the background it is possible to see the Faccanoni Villa, a beautiful Liberty building by Sommaruga, on the shores of Lake Iseo. On the back of the postcard there is a dedicated cancellation mark, representing the original logo of the Iseo Event. The logo says: “Vintage Riva Wooden Boats Meeting – September 10th, 2000” Note that on the top edge of page 18/19 there is a minor manufacturing defect, approximately 3/8” wide where there was a nick in the page before the edges were sheared, which can be seen in the photos. Note that the real mahogany wood on the cover is beautiful, but as it reflects like a mirror, difficult to get a good photo. What appears to be a scratch near my hand is actually a hair. Haha my frustrated eyes looking at the picture saying, “what is that?” Note also that there appear to be other, similar versions of this book, presumably published later that have additional writing on the cover selling for $435 and up. Those are not this version. They have an illustration of wood on the front and back. This special edition has real wood. Hard to price something that is simply unavailable… ISBN: 88-88033-00-9
