Richard Hagopian (1914-1976) a talented singer with a tenor voice, attended the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston for several years but music was not to be his career. His interest in music gave way to creative writing and education. He wrote short stories and produced two novels and after several years of college study he eventually became a full professor and popular lecturer. Ill health forced him to retire in 1969. The illustrator Manuel Tolegian (1913-1984) was born in Fresno and eventually moved to Los Angeles where he studied art. He further studied in New York with John Sloan, Thomas Hart Benton, John S. Curry, and George Grosz. "He was a boyhood friend of writer William Saroyan for whom he wrote the folk music to his Pulitzer prize-winning play "Time of Your Life." Tolegian's book illustrations include Omar Khayyam's and The Dove Brings Peace."--Edan Hughes, "Artists in California, 1786-1940". PLEASE VIEW OUR STORE FOR MORE GREAT SIGNED BOOKS THANKS!<
