Description: Here is a Gateway 2000 midtower PC originally built in the summer of 1997. I have added a 10/100 ethernet card, replaced the power supply CMOS battery, floppy drive and IDE hard drive. Everything else is original equipment. It is now ready to install your favorite applications, from floppy diskette, CD, or from a USB flash drive. This 19" tall midtower case has a 145W power supply and five empty drive bays. Behind a removable door in the front of the case are two exposed 5.25" and one exposed 3.5" drive bays. There are also two hidden 3.5" drive bays for additional hard drives. Inside the case is an Intel 430TX chipset socket 7 motherboard with a 166 MHz Pentium MMX processor . There are only two 168-pin DIMM sockets. I include a 96MB, upgradeable to 256MB. There are two empty PCI expansion slots and two empty ISA slots. One PCI slot is filled with a 3Com 3C905C-TXM ethernet card and one ISA slot is filled with a US Robotics 56K modem. Gateway included an ATI Rage II+ DVD graphics processor on the motherboard, with 4MB of EDO RAM. Onboard sound is handled by an Ensoniq ES1370 AudioPCI chip with a MIDI/joystick port. Gateway also included two PS/2 ports, two USB 1.1 ports and one port each for parallel, serial, and SVGA monitor. The original Toshiba 16X IDE CD ROM is still working. I found and installed a good Citizen 1.44MB 3.5: floppy drive that uses the eject button which came with the Gateway case. The 8.4GB Western Digital Caviar IDE hard drive is partitioned as a single C: drive with no bad sectors. It boots into a clean install of Windows 98 SE with no problems Buyer will receive only the tower pictured here, with no keyboard, mouse, monitor, power cord, other accessories or software.
