Description: Gorgeous Original Antique Lamp Lovely RESTORED antique condition! Working well and freshly rewired with vintage style cloth cord. This is a heavy 4 3/4 pound, well-made piece with a cast iron base. Beautiful painted finish and polished brass. Marked A&R Co on the underside. The twin socket cluster is by Bryant. The sockets have been cleaned, polished, rewired and tested and are working well. It's easy to click between one bulb and the other, and then when lighting up both bulbs, just pull the chain slightly instead of clicking all the way. :) We also added a rotary switch on the cord for easy on/off from the couch, bed, desk, etc - you can leave the bulbs on the way you prefer, and then just click them on and off using the switch on the cord. Simple! :) AND the added feature of using the switch on the cord is that it gives you two lighting options: softer, brighter, and then off. Use the cap on the top of the lamp for holding a reverse painted shade with a hole about 3 3/8 inches in diameter, or add any stained glass or slag glass shade on the finial post (or a lovely fringed shade would look great!). A beautiful piece of art and lighting history. The lamp uses 2 standard-base light bulbs up to 60 watts each (or use LED bulbs for any brightness you like, as they use low wattage for bright light). The small, white 40 watt BULBS ARE INCLUDED however they aren't brand new bulbs so we can't say how much life is left in them, but they'll get you started! :) No cracks in the cast iron or brass.
