Resin 1/72 8-Gun Under Wing Pod for Monogram 1/72 XP-82 P-82 Twin Mustang

Description: North American Aviation developed and tested a streamlined gun pod for the P-82 Twin Mustang in WW2. It was installed on one of the XP-82 experimental aircraft but was never used operationally. With this installation, the Twin Mustang carried a whopping 14 front-facing 50 cal machine guns.Resin part is unpainted and does not include gun barrels or any internal detail. Resin sprue will need to be removed.This resin gun pod is designed to fit the 1/72 Monogram F-82H kit in place of its large underwing radome. It is based on period photographs and line drawings. On the real item, the top front fairing could be hinged upwards and back while the large side panels could be removed. Plenty of opportunities for superdetailing, if desired!Note that the aft section of the pod extended all the way to the trailing edge of the center flap and the last section rotated along with the flap.
