They have hardened, cracked or flattened down so they no longer grip the work surface. The typewriter may even wobble on your desk. When we refurbish an Antique typewriter in our shop, we always replace these feet. And they make your typewriter look good too! Minimal tools (screw driver) & mechanical skills needed to replace them. They are specially designed to fit inside the original metal casing along with the special metal washer and shouldered screw and that attaches them to the typewriter.
