Rare These Carabiners are the 1st Generation USA Production of the REI Oval Aluminum Carabiner. Manufactured by SMC (Seattle Manufacturing Corporation) for REI in the later part of the 1960's. The early versions of these carabiners did not have a strength rating stamp and had a completely round profile. This is a great chance to own a piece of climbing history. The carabiners are in used vintage condition. Some wear from use. There are initials stamped into the gate of one carabiner. The carabiners are fully functional. See pictures for full description.
