Regency Inlaid Mahogany Wine Cellar/Cooler, C 1810

Description: A Regency inlaid mahogany wine cooler circa 1810. The circular line inlaid rim applied with three original ring handles, above the open work body and turned pendant, raised on three line inlaid sabre legs, stamped 627, fitted with later brass liner, retains metal label for L. Alavoine & Co, Interior Decorators, 712 Fifth Ave, New York, 44 Ave. Kleber, Paris. Item measures approximately 24 inches high, with a circumference of approximately 38 inches. Liner is approximately 8 inches high, by 11 inches across. Provenance: Property from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco; collection of Irwin Untermyer, Bonhams San Francisco, The American Museums Sale, European Furniture & Decorative Arts June 15, 2009, lot 1643.
