Our Stockings are 33" long measured from top to toe and will clearly go up over your knee as needed when wearing breeches for men and petticoats for women. The finely ribbed cuff has a touch of elastic to keep Stockings up on your leg without use of gaiters/garters, and a have a fitted and reinforced toe/heel area to prevent uncomfortable bunching in marching boots or dancing shoes. As you may know, "socks" is a modern word, and knitted stockings is the period correct definition of 18th c leg wear. I show you the loft when folded over, good thickness quality. In colonial times walnut shells, moss, onion skins, bark, cochineal, used sugar cone papers, coal, soot, etc could all be used to dye colored fabrics.
