Lobster clasp can be moved to the top ring to secure the main compartment zip. Inside: Main compartment back wall has small slip pocket, front wall has two slip pockets. Damage / odors: Smoke free home, dog friendly home. Leather is in overall great condition, very soft and supple. I do not see any damage to the main leather body or shoulder straps. Zippers are buttery smooth. Bag smells like wonderful leather. Inside side pocket and main compartment has some staining. Slight gentle wear in the bottom corners. NOTE: the small top handle has some black fabric tape at each end. I bought this bag brand new from the manufacturer and around a couple weeks in of using it, I could see some wear in the corners of the little carry handle. I think the design is weak there and I would carry the bag by the shoulder straps and not this little top handle. I do tend to carry a lot of items, so maybe it was too heavy for the top handle. The handle is not actively tearing out. The backpack straps are in good condition and show no signs of tearing. I think this model is the buffalo leather version.
