Description: This is the story of the United States Army's 505 Parachute Infantry Regiment in the Second World War. The 505 PIR was formed in July 1942. The Regiment fought in Sicily, Italy and North West Europe. Serving with the 82nd Airborne Division 505 PIR dropped on the 5th/6th June 1944 as Overlord unfolded.
