Description: Colection grade natural fluorescent and tenebrescent Sodalite var Hackmanite showing bright orange glow under UV light (161ct). Hackmanite demostrates both luminescence under UV light and tenebrescence (ability to change color after illumination with UV light). When left in dark or indoors for prolonged duration (days to weeks) the purple color will fade! However, it is very easy to restore deep purple color by exposing the specimen to UV light, or even bright sunlight outside, meaning the color change is reversible. Using UV light of different wavelengths will produce luminescence of different colors, especially comparing short wave UV (255nm) with long wave UV (365-395nm). Country of origin: Afghanistan, Badakhshan Province, Koksha Valley. All stock is located in Australia. Combined shipping is available for more than one item.
