RARE VTG OOAK ARTIST SIGNED MOHAIR BEAR SANTA & HORSE BY GLORIA ROSENBAUM #1

Description: One-Of-A-Kind! Up for sale is a “one of a kind” Gloria Rosenbaum handmade artist piece. This beautiful mohair Teddy Bear, Santa and Horse creation is a one-of-a-kind piece. Santa is holding the leather reins of his mohair reindeer/horse while bringing a handful of toys to good little girls and boys! This is an artist signed, numbered, dated retired, one of a kind (OOAK) Gloria Rosenbaum piece. This is a very rare find from teddy bear artist Gloria Rosenbaum and part of the Rosenbear Collection! The mohair teddy bear is signed by the artist #1 on his paw and is dated 1991. He is hand made of golden brown mohair, and has glass eyes. The mohair bear includes the signature rose bow in his ear, notable to all Rosenbaum bears. This bear is rare as he sports “two” rose bows, one in each ear. He is numbered #1 making him one of a kind. The Santa measures 17” tall, and his sleigh measures 20” in length. The Mohair jointed Horse measures 16” tall. The horse is handmade of mohair with glass eyes. This collector piece is a rare, one of a kind find with two mohair animals in near mint condition. About the Artist: Gloria Rosenbaum is the artist behind Rosenbear Productions. After great success with her one-of-a-kind handmade mohair animals and teddy bears, Rosenbaum went on to design not only teddy bears, but was contracted by Disney who invited her to design the very first porcelain dolls based on Disney Characters. Her dolls were sold in all of the Disney stores and theme parks. In addition, Macy’s in New York City devoted window displays to her Rosenbear Designs during the Christmas season. I would not be surprised if this was one of those large pieces on display at Macys in the late 80’s or 90’s. Rosenbaum designed teddy bear clothes patterns for McCall’s. She also made dolls for Marie Osmond and designed bears for Annette Funicello’s teddy bear line. Gloria Rosenbaum bears and pieces are one-of-a-kind, numbered, limited editions. Her mohair teddy bears and other mohair animal creations are rare and coveted by teddy bear collectors alike. All of her original pieces are signed, dated and numbered, and the bears have the signature rose in their ears. This piece is signed by the artist, is numbered, dated and retired.
