Description: Here we have a scarce vintage 1970s Koestel (Germany) wax figurine ornament or stand-alone figurine featuring the baby Jesus in wax lying in a heavily gold trimmed plastic cradle. Very clean and fresh piece in need of a bit of tender loving care using the most basic of crafting skills -- pretty much just re-gluing a couple of trim pieces that have come undone. Approximate measurements: 2.75" l x 1.5" x 1.5" ht Condition: Our photographs reveal the condition best -- please enlarge and zoom in on them, and examine them carefully. This piece could use a little tender loving care that shouldn't require more than a bit of patience and glue. The wax head is in very good condition with a bit of light surface wear. One piece of metallic gold trim (included) is missing from one long side of the cradle, and one on the other side is attached but loose. Both just need a bit of glue. The piece is supposed to hang from a loop of the gold trim to which one end is still attached to the foot of the cradle and the other end needs to be re-attached (with glue) to the head of the cradle (as with a handle on a handbag.) We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report.
