Description: OVERVIEW: Here’s a vintage c1970 sterling silver ring by S’Paliu of Córdoba, Spain. I believe this is a design of José González Espaliú rather than Joaquín, who directs the company today and has a much more minimalist approach. This is a sculptural spore-like design in heavy gauge silver. The sides have a wonderful texture. The top contains a cluster of tumbled rose quartz pebbles. When José González Espaliú established his workshop in the 50s, he shook up the conservative silver scene of Córdoba with his avant-garde designs. MARKS: 925 S’PALIU SPAIN on the inside of the band; the outside of the band has a conjoined JE mark, a lesser known mark of this company DIMENSIONS: ring size 5 (although the shank is open, an adjustment should not be attempted); top is about 1” dia.
