Description: Rare vintage sterling silver and turquoise arched-panel belt buckle by famous Navajo artist Mark Chee. The artist's hallmark ("Chee" inside a Thunderbird) is stamped on the back. The buckle is 1 1/8" tall by 3 3/4" wide. It features five turquoise stones separated by silver beads. Stamped overlay edges complete the design. The center turquoise measures 15mm long. The stones on either side of it are 20mm long, and the end stones are 14mm and 15mm. One 20mm stone has a crack, but the bezel holds it securely. The turquoise used in the buckle has a delicate reddish-brown matrix. The buckle will fit a belt up to 15/16" wide. This piece is in good vintage condition.
