Description: Rare! Vintage Seth Thomas, Northbury 1-E, model E704. From the description on the inner label has a B-1700 series chiming movement. Appears the power cord was replaced at some point and wire nutted with a replacement cord that includes a resettable fuse. Clock has been tested and works! Chimes every 1/4hr. Chiming mechanism has a slide switch to lock the chime and keep it from chiming. Includes a small key for setting adjusting the time/chime if necessary. The chime will need to be tuned as one of the chimes makes a flat sound when struck by the chime hammer. I imagine the entire clock could use a good "once-over" by a professional. All outward appearances this clock is in great shape! It has some very minor blemishes, (see pictures). The glass looks great. I don't see any cracks or breaks anywhere in the wood casing. The finish is still nice, deep and rich. I am not a expert/professional when it comes to clocks, so please ask any questions you have before bidding.Shipping and other info: I carefully package my items to insure they make it as described. Most items come from a smoker environment, but it is more likely the packing material will smell of smoke than the item. Get rid of the packing and you should be fine. If smell is a deal breaker for you keep in mind many of my items come from attics, garages, barns, basements and everywhere else, so you may need some Febreze. With the fore mentioned in mind, my items may have: dirt, grease, oil, rust, dander or other forms of filth on them. I do my best to clean things up, but some things are inherently unkempt.
