Description: RARE. An original Delaware Punch sign. Small and perfect for a kitchen or anywhere you want a bit of authentic, cool, original decor. Delaware Punch was created in 1913 and discontinued in 2020. I estimate this sign to be from the 1910s, 1920s or 1930s. It's made of lightweight metal (I think it's tin) and is OLD. This legendary soda inspired chanting amongst jump-roping little girls for decades: "Ice cream soda / Delaware Punch / Tell me the name of your Honeybunch!" SIZE: 4" x 11" FROM WIKIPEDIA: Delaware Punch was created by Job Daniel Rubio Delgado in 1913. The brand was owned by The Coca-Cola Company, but has been discontinued since 2020. The beverage was difficult to find, but was commonly found in some restaurants in Houston, Texas, including James Coney Island. It was also sold in certain grocery stores in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. Delaware Punch can also be found for sale on eBay. Blooms Candy in Carrollton, TX used to stock Delaware Punch regularly in single cans and 12 packs. 20 fl oz. bottles were sold in Louisiana. Delaware Punch concentrate used to be purchased from several online soft drink retailers. The bottled form was sold in Guatemala and Mexico. Delaware Punch was commonly sold at the New Orleans drug store chain K&B, before it was bought by Rite Aid in 1997. The drink can be found in Latin American convenience stores. Delaware Punch was named for the Delaware grape cultivar from which its flavor was derived. The grape was first grown in Delaware County, Ohio, and the drink therefore had no affiliation with the state of Delaware.
