B.A.S.S. has been holding the most prestigious fishing tournaments in the world for the last 40 years. From 1967 to 2001 B.A.S.S. held roughly 350 different pro-level tournaments. The cool thing is that throughout their history they made a special custom embroidered patch to commemorate each & every one of these events. Each patch is unique & (in most cases) very attractive. Most importantly, each patch was extremely limited in terms of production, having only been distributed at a rate of ONE PER ANGLER taking part in the event. Considering that an average of less than 200 anglers took part in most of these events, it's not hard to realize that these patches represent a very scarce level of distribution. Now, consider that many were sewn on garments, thrown by the wayside, misplaced & eventually destroyed. Combine that with the fact that they are considered treasured mementos of the pros' careers (very few are willing to part with them), plus the fact that they are THE ONLY CONSISTENT FORM OF PRO BASS FISHING MEMORABILIA ever produced, and you can see the attractiveness of these patches as a solid collectible.
