RARE VINTAGE Air-B brand latex MTB tube 26 x 1.50/1.60

Description: EXTREMELY RARE VINTAGE (circa 1994) "AIR-B" LATEX tube for 26" MTB wheels. Air-B made more than a dozen different skus of this special tube, and this is the highly coveted RS (Racing Superlight) model, weighing only 105 grams. This tube was all the rage back in the 1990s MTB racing scene, and here is perhaps your only chance to ever have one now, still brand new, still in its all original packaging! According to the marketing literature, this tube's features include: 1) Highly resistant to punctures and pinch flats2) Lowest rolling resistance3) High shock absorption and ground control4) HOLDS AIR PRESSURE 10 TIMES LONGER THAN ORDINARY LATEX TUBES "The Air-B tube is made of Latex rubber so it brings with it the weight reduction and suppleness that makes Latex tubes so desirable. Remember Latex tubes permit air to leak slowly through its surface. One of the benefits of butyl rubber tubes is that butyl rubber retains air under pressure 10 times as long as Latex. Air-B has attended to the Latex air porosity problem by what they refer to as 'thinly lining the interior tube wall with butyl rubber.' This interior lining brings the air retention to near non-Latex standards." I bought this as a spare in the mid-1990s for the pair I had installed in my 1991 Merlin, but never needed to use it, and only just discovered it while cleaning out some basement cabinets. Talcum powder is recommended to make installation easier.
