So in 1943, instead of issuing a new metal license plate, Pennsylvania made a small plate that was bolted to the 1942 license plate. Since it was the time of war, many men where in the service fighting for us, and didn't get to ride their motorcycles. This Penna. License plate is red with black lettering and is in very good condition ~ perhaps it was not even used? It reads on it: "PENNA 3-31-44 8798 1943". The "3-31-44" is how long it was good for. Please take note of the number, only 8798! It measures 4 3/4" long x 3/4" high.
