Description: RARE VINTAGE 1940-1950 MCM ISRAELI LAPID GAZELLE HONEY GLAZED 3" VASE. Condion is good, but does have some crazing, probably due to age, but is otherwise in great condition with no chips, marks or cracks. Lapid Pottery was Founded by Pesach Freedman in 1943-44. Earliest pieces were Hand-painted & Honey-Glazed, like this Vase. They often Featured Gazelles (or Deer), which were Inspired by the Factory Workers' Native Countries. Later pieces are rough-finished & Have a Modernistic Design. The Factory Closed (after 47 years) in 1990.
