Lamb's cruise ship inspired steamer chair from the mid-1970’s epitomizes the beauty of bentwood furniture. Made of strips of beech wood that were steam bent, and then lined up perfectly to maintain the precise angles. It is part of the Design Exchange's permanent collection (Bent Out of Shape Exhibition), which spans 6 decades. The chair folds flat with easy disassembly of two butterfly bolts. as it was designed to be a deck chair. Unmarked, designed by American inventor and industrial designer Thomas B. Lamb (1896–1988), circa 1978. CONDITION: Hard to find any signs that this chair is 45 years old! Excellent vintage condition. LIKE NEW!!! No issues to note - beautiful condition in every way.
