Description: Rudbeckia 'Henry Eilers' or Rudbeckia Subtomentosa, also known as Sweet Coneflower, is a perennial plant native to Missouri. It can be found in moist prairies, along streambanks, and in low-lying areas throughout the state. This plant typically grows to a height of 3-5 feet and produces daisy-like flowers with yellow rays and dark brownish-purple center disks on branched stems. The flowers have a mild anise aroma, which is why it is called sweet coneflower. The leaves are gray-green and toothed, with the lower leaves being 3-lobed and downy below. Sweet coneflower blooms from summer to early fall. It grows well in medium-moisture, well-drained loamy soils in full sun. It can withstand hot and humid summers, as well as some drought once established, and benefits from good air circulation. To promote more blooming, remove spent flowers. It attracts pollinators and is deer-resistant. Perfect for borders, cottage gardens, prairies, meadows, native plant gardens, or naturalized areas. Ideal for cutting and arranging in bouquets. It is ardy to zone 4. 🌱Each seedling comes in a 2" X 2" X 3.5” container. 🌱 Note: The plants you receive may have dark, brown, dried, or very few leaves. This is because some of the plants are still dormant, while others are just beginning to emerge. Please plant all the plugs, even the ones that appear to be dead. We can assure you that with the right growing conditions, they will flourish within 2-3 weeks once they break through the dormancy stage. ***Please understand that these are living plants. We try our very best to pack & and ship out the healthy plant as soon as we receive your order. The plant you will receive may be slightly different from the photos in the listing since no two plants are the same. If you receive any damaged items or have any issues with your order, please send us a photo of the original package along with the items within 24 hours of receipt.
