Description: This offering is for a Vintage Buffalo Pottery Roycroft Renaissance Oval Serving Bowl, Buffalo China, restaurant ware, Roycroft Renaissance, Roycroft Inn, Dard Hunter, Arts & Crafts Movement, Mission Style. It has a Double R Orb insignia. It is a wonderful serving bowl.It has a beautiful geometric pattern along the rim in the colors of green, in the banding and outline of design with dark red brown on the inside of the geometric patterns. The Roycroft doubled barred cross & circle, along with the “RR” logo are found once on the rim.The back stamp: BUFFALO 9094 with a # 3327 impressed into the piece. The pattern dates back to 1917-1920. The history begins with this piece being made for The Roycroft Inn. The Roycroft Inn in East Aurora, New York was home to the Roycroft Arts and Crafts community. Elbert Hubbard, the founder of the Roycroft community was the brother-in-law to John Durrant Larkin, the founder of Larkin Soap and Buffalo Pottery. Reproductions of the original Roycroft Pottery designed by Buffalo Pottery in the early 20th century were made for the continuing operation of the Roycroft Inn, which is still operational today in East Aurora.Measures: 10 1/2”L x 7 3/4”W x 2 1/4”DThis comes from a smoke free / pet free home.
