Description: RARE Paragon teacup Princess Margaret Rose birth commemorative teacup & saucer, 1930, British Royals, hand painted Beautiful 1930s PARAGON fine china teacup and saucer, to commemorate the birth of the Princess Margaret Rose (August 21st, 1930). The cup is marked as follows: "By permission of H.M. Queen Elizabeth when Duchess of York when Duchess of York" - after 1936 the Duchess of York becomes Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. Manufactured in England. This teacup and saucer are hand-decorated. The saucer is oval shaped. The design is of yellow and green colored birds (parakeets), and pink roses and white daisies. Gold edge and accents. The color of this set is very soft off-white with the lightest of yellow hues. In very good condition with no chips, nicks, cracks. Little to no loss to the scalloped gold edge or accents. Only one tiny flaw: There is a very small, very fine, horizontal line (not a crack) just below the top edge of the cup, to the left of the birds (if you zoom in you should be able to see it. One fleabite on the center of the saucer. The saucer measures c. 6" x 5", teacup and saucer together measure c. 3" high. Capacity of the cup is 6 fl oz This is a wonderful collector's teacup and saucer set! Almost 100 years old.
