Rare Oversized 21 Inch 53cm 1950s Steiff Santa 756 with Yellow Tag and Button

Description: Steiff's Santa Claus was produced from 1953 to 1963 in 13, 18, and 31cm sizes - this impressive 21 inch (approximately 53cm) Santa is a rare extra-large treat! Like his smaller counterparts, he has a rubber head, mohair hair and beard, felt body, and a suit, hat, and boots made in red felt with wool plush trim. Unlike his smaller counterparts, he is only jointed in his arms, with his legs unjointed in a standing position. He has his chest tag, though slightly scuffed on top, and a yellow Steiff tag with button attached to an armband on his wrist hand-numbered 756. He is in quite good condition for his age; his suit, boots, and body are all excellent with some yellowing to his beard and white suit trim. The rubber face, head, and ears are overall intact, hard and non-flexible, with some sticking of the mohair and trim surrounding. He will come in his box from Marshall Field & Company, accompanied by a decorative Santa stocking that is not original but cute all the same.
