Description: Wings are pin back and measure 1 1/2” across. Marked “VANGUARD NY” on the reverse. Weighs 3.4 grams on a jeweler’s scale. Wings of this size were worn on the garrison cap. In that regard, scans are provided in the listing of a press photo of a USN aviator with the 1 1/2” wings on his garrison cap as well as a recruiting poster with the wings on the garrison cap of the aviator pictured.
