Description: Presented is a fantastic quality Irish sterling silver coffee pot. This pot dates to the 1760s-1770s. The pot is beautifully made in a classical style, with a bulbous body and scrolled handle. The spout is adorned with elegant foliate designs. The interior of the pot is quite clean, and the marks of hand hammering are clearly visible. The exterior is polished to a bright finish. This is a large and impressive piece of Irish silver, clean and ready to grace your table. The coffee pot is in great overall condition. There seems to have been a repair to the bottom of the handle, with the addition of a pin through the wood to make sure it's well attached. The handle is tight to the body and does not wiggle. There have likely been a few dings removed here and there, but nothing of any significance. There are no splits, no dents, no leaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs to the silver itself. The underside of the pot is hallmarked with the Hibernia mark for sterling silver, the harp crowned for the city of Dublin, and a maker's mark of MC. The interior lip of the lid is also hallmarked with the Hibernia mark and the crowned harp. The pot stands about 12 inches tall. This piece weighs 1008.4 grams or 35.6 regular ounces.
