Description: Here we have one of several different mini molds I have listed. These molds are unique to Yellow Rock Pottery located in Philadelphia, PA and were made during the mid-1800s. During this period, kilns were fired at low temperatures resulting in less durably pottery than was possible by the end of the 1800s when higher firing temperatures were used. Early yellow ware was easily damaged from use, this mold has a flat chip to the end and inside of the rim. This mold is oval and measures 4” long by 2 ½” wide. Little is known about Yellow Rock other than it was in operation in Philadelphia prior to J. E. Jeffords & Company which began operation in 1868. A photo of additional Yellow Rock miniature molds can be found on page 42 in Lisa McAllister's Book II, Collector's Guide to Yellow Ware. These are highly collectable and are nice additions to any yellow ware collection. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
