Description: This is an EXTREMELY RARE SIGNED 1st Edition hardcover copy of Legends of the Yosemite Miwok compiled by Frank le Pena and Craig Bates, and published by the Yosemite Natural History Association in 1981. This particular copy has been signed by Harry Fonseca, a California artist and enrolled member of the Shingle Springs band of Miwok Indians. Fonseca passed away in 2006, but his contributions to modern indigenous art are significant. Condition: Overall excellent, near-mint condition with no evidence of wear, and zero markings on the interior or exterior. Signed by the illustrator, Harry Fonseca, on title page.
