But this minty condition long-discontinued genuine rare vintage 1990's gem is from the original better bygone era of midtown Manhattan's legendary Hunting World store founded in 1965 by Bob Lee. Mr. Lee, who passed in 2016 at age 88, was a world-renowned wildlife conservationist and explorer, a celebrated author, safari and fly-fishing outfitter, and patron of the arts. He was also the designer of a long line for leather goods and luggage, sporting specialties of every nature, and outdoor apparel ranging from safari clothing to Arctic expedition wear... including this world-class "form follows functions" garment designed for the hunt field... but perfect for town 'n country wear. It's one of two Mr. Lee personally sold me in the early 1990's while describing every stand-out practical feature. Today the late Mr. Lee is best known for his highly collectible signature brand of "Battue Cross" luggage with some bags selling in the $300 range, one-a-kind garments and chronographs priced at upwards of $1,100, even silly contemporary golf bags carrying Hunting World's original elephant logo currently on the market for $1,575. Sadly... most all are made in... and sold from... JAPAN! All part of a failed attempt to revive the original world-class brand from a better bygone era.
