Description: Very rare, large (17 inches long) Tibetan Tri-faced Phurba / Vajra / Kila / Dagger A Buddhist ritual tool. Hand-made, incredible details (I can provide more pictures; eBay only allows 12 in listings). Good quality. Condition is excellent. No damages. Some reasonable oxidation in a few areas, and a couple of tiny flea bites on the blade (see for example, picture #10) but for a massive piece this is nothing. Weighs almost 3 lbs (2 lb 12 oz) Let me know if you have more questions, or you know any other good piece for sale online you would like to compare this to (please skip those new replicas for sale from China). I have not seen any yet. ---------------------------- The phurba, or kila, is a three-sided stake or knife/dagger ritual tool associated with meditational diety in Indo-Tibetan Buddhism. Of these 3 faces, one joyful, one peaceful, one wrathful (vajrakilaya). The blade usually has 3 triangular facets, meeting at the tip. These represent, respectively, the blade's power to transform the negative energies known as the "three poisons" of desire, delusion, and aversion/fear/hate. Vajrakilaya (the wrathful face) is embodied in the phurba as a means of destroying violence, hatred, and aggression by tying them to the blade of the phurba and then transmuting them with its tip. So the phurba is not a physical weapon, but a spiritual implement.
