Description: This is an ANTIQUE 18th Century early lighting device, a double crusie, fat, grease, whale oil or Betty lamp are all names that apply. This one is Pennsylvania Dutch and features highly decorative cut work and engraved patterns. The smaller oil cup attaches to the larger oil cup by means of an adjustable iron arm and can be separated into two pieces. It has the original iron spike hanger that allows it to hang on a mantle, a window, or wherever is handy, or to a beam using the very sharp spike. The lamp is a nice large 9" tall (without the spike) and the spike is 6 1/8” long. The grease cup is about 3 7/8” by 3”. Overall excellent condition with no damages some visible rust and a good amount of the original tinning is present. It is all original but for the small connecting link between the spike and the lamp neck, which was possibly replaced; this is not very noticeable, especially from the front view. Age related surface wear is to be expected. Please review all photos as the main part of description.
