If you are familiar with Pickenhammer you may have heard the stories of their dinnerware being present on the White Star Line's ill fated steamship the Titanic. To our knowledge this story has neither ever been positively verified or debunked. Well, we have something here that enhances the mystery we are offering for your pleasure. This is a rare Fischer & Mies Pickenhammer Cabinet Plate. It is a signed Water Lily piece by NALL(who also decorated many fine examples of Limoges). This plate has some very interesting characteristics. We believe it to have been an experimental or sample piece. It is hallmarked with the F&M 1877-1916 Pickenhammer trademark. With the curious addition of both Austria(in lieu of the normally seen Bavaria) in addition the word "Titanic". This piece also has a lovely lusterware finish. It measures 6&7/8 inches diameter(17.3cm) and is in beautiful all original unaltered as found estate condition.
