François Flameng was a very successful French painter and etcher in the classical tradition. His works included gardens and beach scenes, portraits, soldiers and battle scenes. Being a son of a well-known engraver, he received the best education in this craft. Measures Approximately: image size 11 1/2” x 12 1/4”( plate 14” x 23”), List size 17 1/4” x 26” Condition: Some light foxing, spots, tanning at the edges, tears/ chips along the edge, crinkled corners, one corner - top right missing. Marks from the previous framing. Very large tear in the bottom center, below engraving. Sale as is (check photos please). Unframed.
