Description: I worked in EMD's Engineering as part of my career at EMD and as such, we were always reorganizing the department. I found these in a desk that I was assigned and for some reason saved them. There was a saying within EMD that a new locomotive wasn't complete unless it ran into the sand pile on EMD's test track. It also had to catch fire and suffer untold tragedies. These 3 Polaroid photos are probably the only ones taken on EMD's test track showing the first AC locomotive buried in the test track sand pile. I'm guessing some sort of a brake failure. Photos probably from the mid-1980's. Will send USPS
