Description: Original early trials "horseshoe" clip for the C1 L1A1 rifles. This is a very early first pattern horseshoe charging clip that was used on the very early receivers that had integrated charger guides.The horseshoe pattern of clips were trialed on the early rifles, but were not adopted as they were unwieldy in size and had a tendency to bend. This particular clip is the 5-round pattern horseshoe clip.Overall the clip is in excellent condition with mostly just some spots of minor finish wear from handling. Extremely hard to find piece and rarely, if ever, come up for sale. Thanks for looking.
